In 1931, Dr Paul Niehans opened Clinique La Prairie overlooking Lake Geneva. A recognised expert in skin rejuvenation, he turned his establishment into a haven of peace where celebrities from Charles de Gaulle to Marylin Monroe and Pablo Picasso flocked. In 1978, the laboratory launched its first range of cosmetics based on the work of the eminent professor. Secret formulas, caviar extract and other innovations were added to the range, making La Prairie an undisputed benchmark in top-of-the-range cosmetics.
