Unable to find garments comfortable enough for his travels, Lucien Pellat-Finet imagined a cashmere sweater cut like a T-shirt, with no label and no logo. Striking in its minimalism, this first creation—at odds with the exuberant trends of the 1980s—became the emblem of understated luxury.
