Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez met at the prestigious Parsons School of Design. In 2002, the two designers founded their ready-to-wear Maison, which they named after their respective mothers' maiden names. Proenza Schouler sold its first collection entirely at Barneys, and the brand quickly became synonymous with the effortless, charismatic style of New York women.
