Although he dreamed of becoming a painter, Franco Moschino ultimately found his calling in fashion. To fund his studies at Milan's Academy of Fine Arts, he worked as an illustrator before becoming a collaborator of Gianni Versace. In 1983, he launched his first eponymous collection, which was an immediate success. The designer never ceased to parody couture, mix prints and reinterpret the symbols of Pop culture. For over forty years, Moschino has embodied a fashion defined by humour, irreverence and flamboyance.
